Approving Ride Requests: The Transportation Approval System
One reason that you may not be able to immediately place a volunteer driver at the time that a ride is scheduled is because some organizations require that certain types of ride requests be approved before a volunteer may be placed with them. If this is the case for your organization then it is likely that eCoordinator’s Transportation Approval System has been enabled for your organization. In such cases it is also likely that the users of eCoordinator within your organization have probably been assigned to different roles that define the eCoordinator functions that they have available to them and the types of data that they can access. The people assigned to each different type of role will see slightly different things as they use the software. In particular, if the Transportation Approval System has been enabled they will probably see different sets of buttons in the History and Notes section of the profiles of rides that require approval.
First, remember, that the examples that follow only apply to rides that require approval. To indicate that the rides for a given opportunity require approval you need to check the “Schedule slots for this opportunity: Require approval” radio button on the Additional Info tab of the opportunity profile as shown below.
